Worchester sauce ½ tsp. tabasco sauce ½ tsp. pepper 4 tsp. sugar 1 tsp. paprika ½ cup ketchup ¾ cup water ¼ cup vinegar 12 franks Score the tops of the franks. I think I made one long cut. Cook franks in a casserole dish at 350o for 30 minutes. My best friend growing up was Anne Smith and this was her mother's recipe. Evelyn made it and then I made it, back when we ate hot dogs. I never found a better version. BULLETIN Better Version Thanks to the Flint/Meyer 2012 Hotdog Bakeoff 2 Tbsp. butter, 2 Tbsp. brown sugar, 1/2 tsp. dry mustard, 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce, 1 Tbsp. flour, 1/2 cup catsup, 3/4 cup water, 1/4 cup vinegar, 12 franks, 1 onion sliced into the sauce. 1 tsp. paprika (optional). Bake, covered, as above. |
