Mushroom Caps in Cream Gammy Yield: 4 servings 8 large mushroom caps ½ cup mushroom stems 3 Tbsp. butter ½ tsp. grated onion ½ cup soft bread crumbs ½ tsp. salt ½ cup light cream or top milk Wash mushrooms, remove, and chop stems fine. Melt butter, add stems and onion. Cook 3 mimnutes. Stir in bread crumbs and salt; cook 1 minute longer. Stuff caps with mixture; arrange in shallow backing pan and pour cream around them. Bake in hot oven 400o for 30 minutes. |
