Fifty is Nifty Sauerkraut George and Bev Mueller In a large pot or slow cooker: 4 lbs. Bagged Sauerkraut (rinsed) 3 pieces of boneless Country Ribs (or any pork) 2 Tbsp. Caraway Seeds 4 medium Carrots 5 cans of beer 1 lb. Bacon Rinse Sauerkraut (to avoid stomach gas) Brown bacon with pork and cut into small pieces Peel and grate carrots Layer in stages unntil done: Sauerkraut/half can of beer/meat/carrots/seeds - repeat layering until done. Cook covered on low for 5 - 6 hours, checking liquid. Add more beer when needed. Serve with a cold Beer, Bratworst and Potatoes!! |
