Little Chocolate Cake Cookies Applehood and Motherpie Susan P. Larson Yield: 6 to 7 dozen Cookies ½ cup butter or margarine 1 ½ cups brown sugar 2 eggs 2 tsp. vanilla 4 1-ounce squares unsweetened chocolate, melted 1 ½ cups sour cream 3 cups sifted flour ¼ tsp. salt 1½ tsp. baking soda Frosting 6 Tbsp. butter 1 lb. confectioners sugar 2 tsp. vanilla milk Cookies: Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Stir in chocolate, then sour cream. Add the dry ingredients, and mix thoroughtly. Drop by the rounded tablespoon on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375o for 7 to 9 minutes, until they spring back when touched ightly in center. Remove to rack. Frost when cool. Frosting: Cream butter, sugar, and vanilla. Add just enough milk for spreading consistency. Note: Use these to provide chocolate cake crumbs for Cinnamon Star Cookies. |
